Facility Operations Manager, Associate PID: 200802-FOMA-HN
Location: Hacienda Guadelupe, Honduras
Vacancy: Aug 12, 2009
Status: Held by "Acting", Forest Operations Manager.
Primary Responsibilities.
Oversees all operations of the Pole Production Plant and Forest Management
as provided in their respective management plans. Reports directly to
the Global Operations Manager. Provides direct operations and personnel
management of plant operations. Includes managing personnel and production
in the pole Peeler, Kiln, Treatment Plant, Log Receiving, Pole processing,
Pole Loading and transport. Manages deployment of repairs and upgrades.
Communicates with home office and Honduras offices. Manages security
personnel. Works closely with the forest engineer, Forest Operations
Manager and Business Development director to ensure a sufficient supply
of logs to produce a continuous supply of high quality utility poles.
Oversees Forest Operations Manager - personnel who are directly responsible
for the management of forest operations and nursery operations. Forest
Operations includes ground support for forest engineer, tree cutting,
yarding, loading and transport to the plant, removal of "sub-production"
wood, transport of kiln wood, fire protection and controlled burns and
seedling planting. Nursery operations including bed preparation, seeding,
fertility-weed-moisture control and seedling removal.
Oversees Livestock Manager - personnel who are directly responsible
for maintaining horses, cattle and oxen. The Livestock Manager also
oversees fence maintenance and repairs, access restriction, and interior
building maintenance.

Education.
Must
have high school diploma, college degree is a large plus.
Previous Experience Required.
Must have experience in challenging situations where preparation, direction,
teamwork and determination were key elements to success.

Must have experience successfully executing directives or orders.
Previous work in forests or wood working operations a plus.
Previous work with or maintenance of heavy machinery, welding, tractors
or loaders a plus.
Previous work in wood pressure treatment plants a very large plus.
Salary: Negotiable - based on experience and collective qualities.
Benefits: Company provides residence on the facility (10 miles
to Guaimaca, 50 miles to Tegucigalpa), all utilities, cell phone allowance,
and fuel allowance. Paid vacation, major medical insurance, life insurance,
retirement account contribution, performance bonuses. The first $85,000
US per year is considered foreign earned income and is exempt from Federal
Income tax.
