Tree Growth
Tube.
The "Miracle Tube" is a tube approximately 4" in diameter.
"Tree Pro" is a ribbed sheet that rolls into a 4" diameter
tube. Both come with the fastener holes already punched, include very
sturdy Releasable Ties (this is a "must have"), include a tree
bark protection upper rim, and can be ordered with or without ventilation
holes. If moisture is not limiting but heat buildup is or could be an
issue, we recommend ordering the tubes "with ventilation holes".
If the location is prone to drying and heat buildup is not an issue, then
elect "no ventilation holes". Both tubes are constructed of
material that will photo-decay in 5 to 7 years, but for recreational valued
sites you should anticipate collecting the tubes. You can re-use the tubes,
but after 5 to 7 years in the sun they become brittle and begin to break
down.
Miracle Tube or Tree Pro? Tree Pro is an excellent choice if the planting
is going to be maintained where the tube must be removed and then reinstalled
- for pruning, spraying, or other treatments. Tree Pro is also an excellent
choice if the seedling is well developed with multiple branches, or you
need more than a 4" diameter to the tube (available in 8" diameter
- recommended for American Chestnut, Pecan, and some ornamentals). The
Miracle Tube is somewhat favored from a "planting workload"
perspective, as there is no "wrapping" the tube material about
the seedling. The Miracle Tube does permit some access by lifting the
tube several inches (weeding inside the tube and limited pruning). We
have used both with equally impressive results in terms of plant growth
and survival rates. See the tree tube references
for results from studies.
All
CREP (Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program) and similar programs
receive a 30% discount on tubes. Take it as a discount or a rebate to
pay other non-reimbursed costs.
Call us about our other CREP support options. It is our way of supporting
this very important environmental initiative.
Provide your CREP number with your order and receive your discount. All
orders are shipped directly from the manufacturer to your planting site
to reduce shipping costs and overhead. If your order is more than $4,000
you may be eligible for an additional discount. Payment methods accepted
: cash, check, Visa, MasterCard. We process your credit card only on the
date the order is shipped, never before.
